What is a Border Walker? A border walker is someone who walks the borders between worlds. A border walker is often someone who doesn’t feel entirely at home anywhere but is often able to speak the language and live in the culture of disparate lands. Does this idea resonate with you? It does with me. Sometimes I long to belong, but I am working hard to embrace this identity and to learn to do it well.

In recent years I’ve worked in the arts, mostly in the costume departments for stage, television and film. A recent return to the classroom as a student re-ignited my interest in fiction and poetry writing. Here at Border Walking you’ll find stories, poems and essays as I stretch out my borders and learn to walk between the worlds.

Besides interest in theater and other arts, I read about and study faith and worship, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, women in church history, the church fathers, astronomy, science fiction, TV (Doctor Who?) and movies, and how all these things intersect in my life and the lives of those I live, work and worship with.
